I am working as a data engineer at Canva. My focus is on creating great developer experiences for 100+ internal data developers, and to scale the data platform to process petabytes of data (>5 PB). This involves creating developer tools for our paved roads (e.g. CLIs), automated guardrails (e.g. CI pipelines, linters), writing/reviewing design docs, documenting best practices, and providing training.

I am the Founder of Data Engineer Camp, a data engineering bootcamp with students from around the world 🇦🇺 🇸🇬 🇨🇱 🇨🇴 🇺🇸 🇨🇦 🇪🇸 🇮🇳 🇵🇱 🇯🇵 🇹🇭 .

I am a Host of Perth Data Engineering Meetup, a monthly data engineering meetup.

I speak at meetups and conferences on data engineering topics.

I have consulted/contracted to well over 20 companies in various industries through EY, Visagio, Telstra Purple, and Mantel Group. During which, I led data engineering teams and built data platforms for nearly a dozen of those companies.
